Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel is a native of Maigatari LGA of Jigawa State. He holds a master's degree in public policy and administration from the Bayero University Kano, and represented Jigawa North West Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly. He served as the Senate Committee Chair on States and Local Government.
