Driving Business Reforms

Business environment reform promotes the development of markets that encourage competition and enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of other development interventions. A conducive business environment is one of the pre-requisites for economic growth. As a result, reforms are often required to address policy, legal and regulatory requirements that unnecessarily raise the cost of doing business, increase risks or reduce competition. NASSBER’s approach to improving the business environment will focus on six (6) areas that have a direct impact private enterprise and industry. They are Alternative Dispute Resolution, Regulations, Investments, Access to Credit, Intellectual Property, E-Business, Trade.

Building a Competitive Economy

Nigeria’s economic development depends on the country’s ability to create and sustain the factors and institutions that will ensure high productivity and enhance the wellbeing of her citizens. Therefore, Nigeria must seek to achieve competitiveness. A competitive economy is a productive one, and productivity leads to growth, which leads to better income levels and improved wellbeing. The NASSBER Agenda on achieving competitiveness focuses on six (6) factors that will enable Nigeria to achieve global competitiveness. They are infrastructure, efficiency of the markets, human capital development, innovation, data/digital economy and institutions.
